Here is how I made them.
I took the pattern and cut a small amount of the brown zebra print to fit the bottom of the pattern. If you want to flip it up on the bottom you will want to add an inch to an inch and half at the bottom depending in how much of a cuff you want.
Go ahead and get the pants made just not hemmed at the bottom. I took the cuff part and stitched th inside seam with right sides together.
Then turn up 1/4 " or so and press.
Then pin with wrong sides together and line the seams up.
Then stitch at hem.
Then I stitched up the seam, opposite side, front center and back. I did this to keep it in place.
That's it. Now here is the question for you. I showed my husband my creation and he did not feel it was boy enough. He helps me quite a bit with my sewing creations. He lets me know if it is too much, not enough and someone to bounce ideas off of. I think this is cute for a little baby boy. He says it should be for a girl. what do you think??
Those are so adorable! Way to jazz it up :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it would be adorable for either-Just add one of your fancy bows and a headband for a girl!!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Love the zebra print too! I think cuffs on jeans would be adorable too! Great tutorial - thanks for sharing. Hope you are enjoying your weekend! ~ Stephanie Lynn
ReplyDeleteAdorable! I love green with zebra print. I think it's great for a boy. It's cute without being girly!!
ReplyDeletethat's so cute! The pants were cute with just the plain green, but then the addition of the zebra print really makes them pop.

Perfect for a boy! I've never understood why people think zebra print is girly??
ReplyDeleteI'm with hubby, before even getting to the bottom, I thought how cute for a girl, I have a 10 month old boy and would have a hard time putting him in that, the zebra is too girl with the light green stripe, sorry.
ReplyDeleteI've never posted before, trying to figure out how to do it. I entered a post, but it didn't come up, so I'm doing it again. I am with hubby on this one. I have a 10 month old and would have a hard time putting him in this, the green stripe with the zebra is too girly to me and I have a 4 year daughter who is super girly and I think this would be cute for her, the color combo.
ReplyDeleteI think it's fine for a boy....but I live in Portland Oregon. :)
